New Block D Guidelines for Math
Starting this week (March 4), students with two or more incomplete homework assignments will be automatically assigned to the next week's Block D Math session (Tuesday). During this time, students will be required to complete an alternate make-up assignment that will replace the incomplete grade.
Students will bring home a Block D notice on Friday if they have been assigned for the following Tuesday.
Completing the missing assignments will not exempt students from Block D. Since we go over each assignment in depth when they are due, students who complete the assignments after the due date have already been given the answers. The alternate make-up assignment will cover similar material and will require students to demonstrate that they have learned the concept rather than memorized the answers from the class discussion.
Students needing reteaching of the concepts will receive the support they need.
If a student skips their assigned Block D time, they may receive an office consequence.
If staying on a Wednesday or Thursday is more convenient for the student's family, a note must be sent in on Tuesday and it must include the day (Wednesday/Thursday) that the student is able to stay.
If picking your child up after school is challenging everyday, please work with your son/daughter to make sure that they are completing their assignments on time. This is the only way for students to keep themselves from being assigned to Block D.
